For a site with such a good idea and so much potential, it's sad to see platerage turn into such an ugly piece of shit website. I signed up right off the bat with high hopes, and I even won the first ever hat giveaway.
But I quickly lost interest, and for good reason. I was hoping for interesting discussions and respectful discourse about road-rage related issues. Instead I got to read lots of stupid posts and flame wars. And the whole site is based on a system that rewards users for spamming as many shitty posts as they can. This is not a good way to build an internet community.
Call me a troll if you want, I don't care. The fact is, that for the reasons outlined above, platerage sucks. It's a good idea that is being carried out poorly, and the admins could do a lot better.

thanks for your comments, we are working hard on removing all the flaming and you will notice over the past months the site has actually been used for the right purposes. If more users were active, there would be more than just a few of us dominating the site. Take a look at the posts, you aren't seeing people raging because someone's "tail light was out". In addition, spamming is in regards to advertising, what you are insinuating is flooding and once again, it is not flooding if the majority of users are inactive. Further this is not a message board, so discussion is not seemingly the intent. Finally, I really haven't seen the old flame wars around for some time. Users seem pretty well behaved and respectful of one another. As far as I see, the overall site works well, much better than similar siters I have seen.

I'm with Roadie on this one. If you don't like it, don't use it. I promote it all the time with friends and on Twitter. It's a good outlet and easy to use. I only wish the Police would peruse this once in a while to check for blatantly dangerous drivers. I'm not going to pick up my cell while I drive to report someone because I think that's a huge problem in itself. Thank you for existing Platerage.
